I know most of you new members go through the same process as I did when I first joined HL2RP. Almost everyone wants to be a rebel but the sad reality is you will probably be stuck with a normal citizen character until you are invited to join the rebellion
As the saying goes.... one is a wefugee before he is a webul.
"So I should throw bikes at the combine from a high place to get noticed, right?"
Well there are a few problems with the above mentality. The first is that your rash and fearless actions will probably result in the end of your characters life, this, will probably not help him\her become a rebel. The second being that it breaks a couple rules and you could be labelled as a minge, which would mean you never get your chance.
"Okay.... so wut should I do with my new character then... passive RP is boring...."
The hardest part about getting past the citizen stage is maintain interest in it, if you find passive RP boring... well... go do something important to help your local CP team.
"But aren't the CPs the bad guys right?"
Well, that depends on your characters point of view but it would be in your characters best interest (At this stage) to benefit from the Loyalist Program.
"Wut?"
- The Loyalist Program
The loyalist program is basically.... the combine rewarding its 'loyal citizens'
"So how do we get rewarded and stuff...?"
Well, that is dependant on the City administrator but often a loyalist could expect benefits such as:
- More and better rations
- Priority in ration queues
- Better quality housing
- A better job or an invitation to join the Civil Workers Union
"The civil wut?"
The Civil Workers Union (CWU)
"Oh those guys... riiiight.... but still, I wanna be a webul.... how does this help me be one?
Well firstly, being a loyalist and the CWU already promotes you above the rest. You will be noticed this way (OOCly) as someone who can role-play.
This, by extension could lead to many things....
"K... so how I loyalist?"
Well, your level of 'Loyalty' to the combine is measured in how many 'UU points' you have to your name [often referred to as Loyalty points]
'Erm.... points?'
Yes, if a citizen is helpful to the UU he will be awarded a certain amount of points depending on what he\she has done.
- Example reward scheme:
Sweeping the Plaza - 1 point
Completion of a 'work shift' - 1 point with ration benefits
Reporting an Anti-Citizen - 2 points
Reporting a rebel base - 5 points
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are many more things your character could do.... just ask a MPF officer or a CWU member. (Don't waste their time though)
Note from Veigar: Points awarded are dependant on the MPF unit. "Some give more some give less"
